UKRZINC CHEMICAL & METALLURGICAL PLANT
Ukrzinc chemical and metallurgical plant was founded in the end of 1997. The same year the company was registered at the state authorities as a taxpayer on common basis. The main area of company’s activity — recycling of zinc-containing wastes – was established by its founder from the very beginning.
The company used the latest technologies, which has never been applied at the USSR’s plants for recycling of zinc-containing wastes in order to receive high-quality zinc products, and invested costs into researches, project development and building of chemical and metallurgical plant.
For 2.5 years the project of future plant has been in active development by leading experts in the field of nonferrous metallurgy from the CIS and EU countries.
After the project has been approved by all state authorities, it was acknowledged
as highly environmentally friendly, energy-saving and, the most important, waste-free.
In the middle of 2001 the building of the plant was completed. Then the plant was approved by the state commission, and the Operation Commencement Act was signed.
Already on the 10th day of plant operation, the first lot of products was produced, and its quality fully complied with European standards and norms. For the first month of plant’s operation it manufactured and sold the first 350 tons of the product. This was the best sign that the development direction, established by the plant founder was right. Today Ukrzinc chemical and metallurgical plant is the only manufacturer of zinc oxide in Ukraine.
